Exploring Motors
Let's Make a ScribbleBot!
A Scribble bot is a robot that makes art! This robot uses a motor to move around in unpredictable ways, every change you make to this bot makes it move in different and unpredictable ways!
Materials
- Robot Base (Can, plastic cup, etc)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Glue sticks
- Tape
- Markers
- AA Battery holder
- AA Battery
- Wire
- DC motor
- Switch
Step 1
Find a base for your Scribble bot and gather the rest of the materials.
Step 2
Heat up the glue gun and use it to mount the motor and battery holder. Make sure the motor is as flat as possible.
Step 3
Connect the wires to the motor.
Step 4
Use a piece of the glue stick to make an offset weight for the motor.
Be sure to secure it well. It might come loose!
Step 5
Use the tape and markers to add some legs to your robot.
Make sure all legs are level to the ground.
Step 6
Decorate your bot, take the caps off the markers, add the battery and switch it on!
